About The Book
David Gregory has traced his ancestral Gregory family roots back to the early 16th Century in the Leicestershire villages of Peckleton and Desford.
In Tudor times the family were poor working farmers. His book traces their progress over each generation to modern times. It also examines the impact of many of the principal historic events on the lives of his ancestors and other working people.
Proving family relationships of working people back to the days of Henry V111 is very challenging.
Fortunately, a sequence of wills, parish records and other documentation have greatly helped in providing a convincing and detailed framework for this book.
